Busting town and surrounded by the Sal forest is Paonta Sahib. This place got its name from the Tenth guru of Sikhs, Guru Gibind Singh Ji, who lost his ornament here. He was invited by the Raja Maidini Prakash of Sirmour to stay for some time. To add four stars to the beauty of this place is river Yamuna that flows with extreme peace. As the story says, Yamuna flwed here in a roaring manner before Guru Ji stayed here. After his arrival, he calmed Yamuna and it started flowing serenely beyond the point.
